Alex Cubitt, Co-Founder & Director

Alex combines strong strategic thinking with pragmatic customer focussed operational experience. At CMR Surgical, she developed CMR’s Go-to-market Strategy and Customer Experience Strategy. She was responsible for the scale up of the global customer service functions as CMR launched its commercial product. Specifically, setting up the global processes & organisation to supply, service and support the Versius robotic platform in the global market place.

 

Prior to joining CMR, Alex gained over 15 years consulting experience at LEK and Science Group developing service, go-to-market and R&D strategies and organisational design for clients ranging from multinational companies to start-up ventures, in Europe, Asia and the US. She is an experienced Non Executive Director, including during business exit and subsequent working with the UK Competition Commission.

Alex holds an MEng degree from Oxford University.

Paul Roberts, Co-Founder & Director

Paul combines deep technical knowledge of digital industries with entrepreneurial spirit with deep expertise in the medtech sector. As co-founder of CMR Surgical, Paul was instrumental at first defining and then executing new business strategy across capital equipment, consumables and service revenue streams. CMR enjoys global success including the NHS, widely regarded as a discerning buyer. Paul positioned the digital ecosystem around the Versius robotic platform delivering the benefit of monitoring surgical outcomes (through the adoption of registries), enabling surgeons to review and refine procedural techniques, and improving hospital operating workflows.

Prior to joining CMR, Paul spent 10 years consulting to across a range of market sectors including medical devices, green-tech, & diagnostics and across a range of product types from physical to combination to pure digital service.

Paul holds PhD and MA degrees from Cambridge University.
